Holt Primary School Reading Dogs

We are excited for you to meet our Holt Primary School Reading Dogs.  Your child will have the opportunity to take our furry friend home to share a few special books from school.  Please find a comfy place to share the book as a family and feel free to share another book with the dog.  We want them to experience as many new books from home as possible.

Feel free to read poetry, non-fiction books, comics, chapters of favourite books or picture books to our dog. The main purpose is to enjoy and celebrate reading together.

Please be sure to take good care of our special friend. If you receive the dog on a Monday, please make sure to return it by Wednesday morning.  If you receive the dog on a Wednesday, please send it back into school by Friday morning so that all children in the class have the opportunity to take part in this activity. 

It would be great if you could record the title and author or the book you share with your reading dog in the reading diary provided. 

If you wish to email a picture of your time with the reading dog, please feel free to pass this on to your child’s class teacher. Happy reading!
