Homework at The Holt focusses mainly on reading, number bonds and times tables.
We want learning completed at home to support the children learning to read as well as develop reading for pleasure so different types of books and texts might be sent home. We hope that reading can take place at least three times a week if not more.
Times tables practice is so important, especially in year 4 with the end of year check. it is hoped that the children are secure with their times tables up to 12 x 12 and Times Tables Rock Stars is reset each week and is a perfect way to secure this learning.
Each term there will be a project linked to the topic to provide an opportunity for creativity, exploration and research.
We hope that the majority of homework can be carried out independently or with a little support, encouragement or guidance.
