Safeguarding

Our duty of care is to safeguard all pupils at The Holt Primary School. We take this role seriously and follow the LCC policy and procedures in reporting concerns to Children's Services. We aim to work in partnership and have an important role in inter-agency safeguarding arrangements as set out by Working together 2018 and Keeping Children Safe In Education 2023. All our staff receive regular training and updates as per the LCC training pathway to ensure we remain up to date, vigilant and understand the processes and procedures included in our policy.

Everyone working in or for our school shares the same objective to help keep children and young people safe by providing a safe environment for children and young people to learn and develop in out school setting. We also contribute to the identification of children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm and take appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both at home and in our school.

The Holt Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its pupils. Each pupil's welfare is of paramount importance. We recognise that some children may be especially vulnerable to abuse. We recognise that children who are abused or neglected may find it difficult to develop a sense of self-worth and to view the world in a positive way. Whilst at school, behaviour many be challenging and this might impact on others.  We will always take a considered and sensitive approach in order that we can support all our pupils.

Our comprehensive policy can be found below, covering all aspects of this area of our work and the legislative guidance is also listed.

Our named safeguard lead is the Headteacher, Julie Leach and in her absence, the Deputy Head, Sarah Bell.

Our Safeguarding Governor is Mr G Johnson.
