Homework for Year 2
We give out homework every Wednesday for completion and our hand in day is Monday morning.
To promote independence, in the classroom we have a labelled draw and a tick sheet, so the children can put their finished work in the Homework Tray and tick their name off to tell the teacher they have handed it in.
Homework is marked on a Monday and new homework stuck in ready for Wednesday. Homework handed in late will be marked on the following Monday hand-in.
Children will be given their spellings on a Friday to learn ready for testing on the following Friday. These spellings are words which occur most frequently in everyday language and need to be read and spelled by children correctly. For the children who have made excellent progress with their spellings, we will be looking at spelling rules and the spelling lists given will reflect the rules learnt.
Remember: Practice makes perfect.
Please keep encouraging your child to read for at least 10 minutes per night. We enjoying seeing the range of books the children enjoy logged in their Reading Records. If your child is unwilling to read; try to share the reading by completing a page each or agreeing to read on alternate evenings instead.
