Get Caught Reading!

Year 3 have begun to get excited about reading this term. We have been sharing our favourite books and Mrs Thursby has been spending time reading her favourite books to us. At the moment she is reading The World's Worst Children by David Walliams.

Year 3 have also been finding unusual places to read around school and they have started to think about where they could get caught reading around school. Have a look at our fantastic photos. See if you can spot the places we found. You might recognise some of them!!

Please remember that reading at home is important. Mrs Thursby would like you to read as much as you can over the half term holiday. Record any reading you do in your reading record books and make sure you can confidently talk about what you have read. Here are some questions you could get your family to ask:

What is the main idea in the story?

Who are the characters?

Who is your favourite character and why?

Can you give some words that describe your character?

Can you explain the plot of the story?

How does the story end?

Would you recommend this book to a friend and why?

Look out for lots more exciting reading activities over the year!
